SHANNON WILL, PT, DPT, CSCS, USAW, XPS

Dr. Will is the owner of Will Power PT, an award-winning performance and rehabilitation practice based in Baltimore, MD. With a background in treating professional and collegiate athletes, including those in the NFL, MLB, NBA, PLL, and Division I college sports, Dr. Will is deeply familiar with the physical and psychological challenges that come with injury, performance expectations, and the high-pressure environment of competitive athletics.

Beyond physical recovery, Dr. Will is passionate about supporting athletes mental health. She actively works to break the stigma around mental health by encouraging vulnerable conversations during each of her treatment sessions. She asks the tough questions, what an athlete may be apprehensive about while returning to practice and game time scenarios, as well as how their life has been impacted due to injury. She encourages her athletes to share their rehab journey with their teammates, so the athlete can be further supported by their community during their transition back to sport. Dr. Will focuses on treating the whole athlete, recognizing that identity, leadership, and purpose outside of sport are often deeply impacted by injury, rehabilitation setbacks, performance limitations, and ultimately transition out of athletics.

As a mental health advocate, Dr. Will supports youth and collegiate athletes in navigating challenges such as performance anxiety, physical stress, and overuse injuries by involving the entire team surrounding the athlete. Dr. Will acts as a health professional liaison, facilitating collaboration among the athlete, parents, coaches, and athletic trainer to reinforce rehabilitation goals, expectations, positive coping skills, self-care, and stress management techniques. Through her work with Calvert Hall College Varsity Lacrosse and FCA Girls Club Lacrosse, she delivers on-the-ground care, providing athletes manual therapy, rehabilitation, injury prevention programming, and mental health resources they need to thrive both on and off the field.

Dr. Will empowers student-athletes to advocate for themselves and their teammates, to share their physical and mental health experiences, and to build strong, supportive communities within their team and sport. In conjunction with The Hidden Opponent community and resources, it is Dr. Will's goal to destigmatize mental health conversations, promote work-life-sport balance, and encourage help-seeking behaviors by referring to her network of health professionals to support long-term athlete recovery and performance.

As a new mother and pelvic health specialist, Dr. Will also supports women through the physical and emotional transitions of pregnancy and postpartum life, reinforcing her belief in the continuation of athlete care.

Dr. Will proudly stands with The Hidden Opponent to amplify athlete voices, normalize mental health challenges, and provide lasting support for the student-athlete community.
