Welcome Dr. Madeline Barlow, Director of Programming


The Hidden Opponent is excited to welcome Dr. Madeline Barlow as the Director of Programming as of July 2023.


In her new role, Dr. Barlow will further develop the current Campus Captains and Coaches & Professionals programs, and support the establishment of additional programs in the near future.


Dr. Barlow completed her PhD at Temple University in the Psychology of Human Movement with a specialization in Exercise and Sport Psychology. She is the CEO and Founder of Mind-Wise Mentoring LLC, an Educational Speaker for The Hidden Opponent, and a Transition Coach for Athletes Soul.


In 2020, Madeline developed The Mind-Wise Method, her signature mind-body healing program for current and former athletes. This program is a direct result of 20+ years as a sport psychology professional, coach, and her personal sport and mental health experiences. Through Mind-Wise, Madeline provides support and guidance as her clients move through limiting beliefs and step into their true Self in and out of sport!


In 2021, Dr. Barlow authored the book The Highly Sensitive Athlete: How to Embody the Magic of Your True Self in and Out of Sport and co-authored Athlete to Entrepreneur: Powerful Stories of Transition from Players to Professionals.


Madeline was also the Mental Performance Coach for Drexel University Athletics from 2018 to 2023 and worked directly with teams and coaches to enhance performance and overall wellness through mental skills training.


Madeline earned her bachelor’s in psychology in 2013 from Bloomsburg University, where she was a four-year Division II collegiate swimmer, individual and team record holder, and NCAA qualifier.


The Hidden Opponent is honored to welcome Dr. Madeline Barlow to this role. Her expertise and research in the field, background in curriculum development, and passion for supporting others will bring The Hidden Opponent's programming to new heights.
