QUENTIN SHAMBLEY, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC
Quentin Shambley, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, mental health speaker, and former Division I athlete dedicated to advancing mental health awareness in sports. Trained in adult psychiatry at Vanderbilt University—where he also played defensive back for the Commodores—Quentin brings a rare combination of clinical expertise and lived athletic experience to his work with teams and individuals. He is also ACT! Certified in crisis mental health awareness, equipping him with advanced skills in early intervention and response for high-stress environments.
Quentin began his career supporting youth, families, and communities as an intensive in-home counselor and specialized crisis responder. Since then, he has provided care across a wide range of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and crisis observation units, treating both general and severe mental illnesses while sub-specializing in neurocognitive disorders. His work with athletes at all levels is informed by both clinical training and personal experience, helping him build strong connections that lead to meaningful and lasting results.
As an African American professional, Quentin’s cultural awareness and commitment to inclusivity allow him to serve diverse athletic populations with competence, empathy, and insight. Whether speaking to teams, leading mental health training, or providing individualized psychiatric care, he creates safe, empowering spaces for athletes to prioritize their mental well-being and perform at their highest potential.
